Have a wild encounter—Meet the Pilot Snake!

There’s a long, scaly reptile found throughout Pisgah National Forest that old-timers used to refer to as the “Pilot Snake.” Meet at the amphitheater to see a live Pilot Snake and learn about the interesting stories that have arisen concerning this slithery inhabitant of our mountain woodlands.

Kids Scavenger Hunt

Drop by our naturalist’s table at the amphitheater to pick up a bag and a list of natural items found around the campground. Take the list, complete the scavenger hunt successfully, and drop back by and choose a prize as your reward!
